What does being an artist mean to me?

It means trying

It means trying

It means trying

to make things

It means trying

It means trying

that ring true.

It means trying

that ring true.

About the artist:

Damon Maxwell’s work is a celebration of life itself. With his use of vibrant color, shape, and texture Maxwell’s art conveys a sense of curiosity and wonder. “I like my paintings to be spaces that allow for the freedom to explore, and to make personal discoveries" says Maxwell. He finds a constant well of inspiration in nature and also in the beauty of the human form.  Often using unconventional methods and materials, his pieces hover somewhere in the delicate balance between abstraction and representation.

Maxwell received his BFA in fine art from the University of California at Santa Barbara.

He has shown extensively in the Northwest including multiple group and solo exhibitions.

He has received various awards including the international Liquitex Excellence in Art award.

Maxwell currently lives just outside the city of Seattle, Washington where he maintains his studio.

A note from the artist about owning a painting: My paintings are created to be loved and lived with, not to collect dust in the studio. If a particular painting is really speaking to you, but you don't quite have the funds, please don't hesitate to reach out. I think you'll find that I'm pretty easy to work with. What's most important to me is that my paintings find their people. If need be, payment plans can be arranged. If you'd like to contact me directly or get on the mailing list for upcoming exhibitions, click here.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy.

Sincerely, Damon.
